Fishing...From da Kayak

Now that the kayak has accessories and is ready to go fishing, it's time to hit the water.  Went out down from the house on the other side of the rifle range with a few AquaHunters members and enjoyed a few hours on a nice day with nice water.  Caught my first fish from a kayak, a Ta'ape or Bluestrip Snapper; small kine but apparently good to fry up or use as chum.  I was advised not to throw it back in the water as it was introduced to Hawaiian waters and has been destructive to the ecosystem.

Is it me or are there many attempts to help nature out only to make it worse?

Ended up catching two more small fish, Moana or Many bar goatfish, which is praised as a great bait fish for pelagics.

After 4 hours on the water I'm tired, sore, toasted, and stoked!

Here's a pic of me and my small Ta'ape!
